Money-transferring app Cash App, developed by Block, will stop working in the UK on September 15, after six years of service.
Cash App UK shut down on July 18, but users were reassured that their funds would be safe until they were removed, even after the service stopped working.
Cash App’s Strategic Shift
The App said:
“We don’t take these kinds of decisions lightly because we know they will affect our customers, our partners, and the people who have helped us get to where we are now,”
Jack Dorsey, who used to be CEO of Twitter, started Block in 2009. At first, it was called Square, but in 2021, it changed its name.
Cash App, which is made by Block, lets people buy coins like Bitcoin. In the fourth quarter of 2023, the company said that BTC sales on the App brought in more than $2.5 billion.
