Ryan Selkis quit as CEO of Messari because he wants to focus on crypto policy and problems that affect the whole country. Messari confirmed the news on X (formerly Twitter), saying that Selkis will still be a top advisor to the company and help with its long-term plans.
Selkis was angry about the failed attempt to kill former President Donald Trump and promised to fix problems with institutions that affect the whole system. “I will be channeling all of my energies into addressing the underlying issues that have led to these systemic problems in our institutions,” he wrote on X.
Selkis Tweets Controversially
Eric Turner, who is Messari’s Chief Revenue Officer, will be the acting CEO. Messari talked about Turner’s contributions to the company since its start, such as putting together the study team and making important products.
People didn’t like Selkis after he tweeted angry political comments after the attempted murder. He tweeted, “Anyone who votes against Trump now can die in a f*cking fire.”
He then said, “The Civil War for the country started today, and if you are against Trump, you are against the men who are willing to fight.” “Best of luck.” Both tweets have been taken down since then. According to Selkis, his words hurt his team. He said, “This week was the first week in 6.5 years that my politics and rhetoric put the team in harm’s way.”
Selkis has said that the SEC is crooked and incompetent. He is known for criticizing the agency. He has pushed for modern technology to be used to handle market information and fight fraud, saying that old-fashioned government officials are less effective than private companies that use new technologies.
