Enabled by a new cross-chain protocol by the Wormhole Foundation, Worldcoin has revealed flawless World ID integration for the Solana blockchain. Made public on September 13, this news follows Wormhole’s choice as one of the 17 Worldcoin Wave 1 Community Grant recipients.
Completed within two and a half months following the grant announcement, the integration lets World ID—from Worldcoin’s layer-2 Ethereum chain—authenticate users across Solana’s distributed apps (DApps).
World ID User Growth Noted
This development improves cross-chain capability between Solana and Ethereum services, hence simplifying Worldcoin identification for Solana developers. Worldcoin is meant to give safe login privacy-enabled human verification without revealing personal information.

As of July 31, 2024, Worldcoin claims that the network boasts 6,630,191 users, having seen consistent expansion since its July 24, 2023 introduction. It’s yet unknown just how many people using Worldcoin are part of the DApp economy.
After Spain, where issues concerning data privacy resulted in a voluntary suspension, Worldcoin lately extended its services to Austria, marking its second European country of operation. With Malaysia using Worldcoin as its standard authentication method and collaborating to expand Worldcoin’s Orb identifying hardware manufacturing, the company also seen growing acceptance in Southeast Asia.
