Ripple’s Chief Technology Officer, David Schwartz, surprised everyone when he posted on social media about his job and his plans for the future.
Schwartz, who tweets as @JoelKatz on X, talked about how he became XRP’s CTO. He said that co-founder and former CEO of XRP Chris Larsen invited him. He made it clear, though, that he is loyal to the company and not to any one person. Larsen hired him because of this.
Ripple CTO Admits Financial Misstep
The CTO was honest about his finances as well, letting everyone know about his large stake in XRP stock. Schwartz courageously said, “I don’t need to work for Ripple,” implying that he might leave the company when he finds it unfulfilling.
Schwartz admitted that he has been criticized for not being loyal, but he said that he doesn’t expect people to be loyal to him if they don’t think he deserves it. Despite their harsh words, he thought that even his harshest enemies indirectly recognized his honesty.
Even though Ripple’s owners were given a lot of XRP, Schwartz said he made a mistake when he picked Ripple stock over XRP. After a lot of court trouble over whether or not XRP was a security, they finally said it was one. The SEC is suing XRP, Larsen, and the company’s former CEO, Brad Garlinghouse. The case is still going on, and it has a negative effect on the business.
Because Schwartz was honest, there has been a lot of talk about his future at XRP and the direction of the company in the face of ongoing lawsuits and changes in the market. The fact that Schwartz is open gives us a rare look into how one of the best coin companies really works while people wait for more news.
