Due to the CEO’s sexual misconduct claims, Ethereum Layer-2 Project Eclipse has a new leader.
Eclipse is a well-known Ethereum layer-2 project that is going through a leadership change because its former CEO is being accused of sexual misconduct.
Entrepreneur Neel Somani, who started the project, has quit as CEO. Eclipse Labs said in a statement on May 16 that Vijay Chetty will take over as CEO right away.They didn’t say why Somani was leaving in their statement from Eclipse.

Chetty has been Ethereum Layer-2 Projectgrowth officer and brings a lot of experience to his new job. He has been in charge at dYdX Trading, Ripple Labs, and Uniswap Labs and has also worked for BlackRock, a financial giant.
Somani has denied all of the claims and said on May 9 that he would temporarily cut down on his public appearances because of them. His claim is that he has not sexually assaulted or harassed anyone.
Ethereum Layer-2 Projectsaid that it understood how serious the accusations against Somani were and that it was committed to telling the truth.
People in the cryptocurrency community responded quickly to Somani’s resignation. Some saw it as an admission of guilt. Eclipse’s backers and funders also spoke out against it. Dragonfly Capital managing partner Haseeb Qureshi said that his company had decided not to invest in Ethereum Layer-2 Projectafter learning about Somani’s past of sexual harassment claims.
Hack VC, which is another investor in Ethereum Layer-2 Project, was very worried about the claims against Somani and agreed with his choice to step down. The company made it clear that this kind of behavior is completely inappropriate.
