Vitalik Buterin, the founder of Ethereum, is thought to be worth at least $833.83 million, according to a new study from Arkham.
Buterin’s main source of wealth comes from helping to create Ethereum. When the cryptocurrency first came out in July 2015, he got a significant amount of it. At its highest point in 2021, when ETH prices were above $3,000 per token, the value of his shares briefly made him a billionaire.
At the moment, Buterin is known to have about 245,278 ETH, which is worth $831.2 million. His net worth, which also includes stakes in projects like StarkNet, is mostly made up of these things.
Buterin’s Ethereum Holdings Decline
Buterin’s ETH stocks have gone down over the years, in part because he has sold some and in part because the network makes more ETH.
Even with this drop, Buterin’s ETH assets have always been just a tiny percentage of the total, sticking to his promise that he would never hold more than 0.9%.
When looking at the top holders of ETH, Buterin comes out as the most valuable individual holder. The top holders are mostly exchanges and institutional managers.
Buterin’s wealth is still closely tied to his crypto investments, which include non-ETH tokens like KNCL, WETH, and DEGEN. This is true even though the prices of cryptocurrencies go up and down.
People should not put too much stock in the estimate net worth of almost a billion dollars. There may be more than one holding that has not been revealed, as well as possible non-crypto assets.
