David Schwartz, the Chief Technology Officer of Ripple Labs, recently went on a social media rant in which he criticized AI apps on public platforms again, this time focusing on Quora.
Schwartz used X (formerly Twitter) to say that he didn’t like how the famous question-and-answer site used AI to make questions.
In his post, he said bluntly, “This AI-generated @Quora slop even passed manual review.” He was criticizing the quality of questions about current events in the United States government.
David Schwartz’s AI Controversy Explained
Schwartz has previously faced controversy over AI, and his incisive remarks indicate that he is not merely irritated by the public use of AI. Some people think that his complaints might not be based on technical issues but on a personal grudge against the company.
On the other hand, Elon Musk recently reported on the progress of his company’s AI chatbots in an interview with Dr. Jordan B. Peterson at Gigafactory Texas. Musk talked about the upcoming releases of Grok 2.0 and Grok 3.0, the next versions of the AI robot that his company, xAI, made.
Musk reports that the team is nearing completion on Grok 2.0, focusing on enhancing its functionality and resolving bugs. This version should be as effective as or better than OpenAI’s ChatGPT-4. It should hit the market in August.
Meanwhile, X and Nvidia, the manufacturer of H100 computers, are assisting in the development of Grok 3.0 at a massive data center in Memphis, Tennessee. Musk thinks that by December, Grok 3.0 will be the most advanced AI on the market, beating out all other AIs.
