Tech entrepreneur Elon Musk recently talked about how quickly artificial intelligence (AI) software is being used at the Cannes Lions festival.
A lot of things came up when Musk talked to Mark Read, CEO of the advertising giant WPP Plc. He talked about how he spends the funds and how he feels about AI becoming recognized so quickly.
Elon Musk, the richest person in the world, talked about a controversial comment he made about X ads in November. He also said why he thinks funds should be used to keep people quiet.
He made it clear that his offensive comment was meant only for certain marketers, like Disney CEO Bob Iger, and not for all advertisers.
Musk Discussed AI’s Rapid Spread
A significant part of the talk was about how quickly AI is spreading. He said that he had asked his college-aged son, probably Brent, about how students use AI. Brent is 19 years old and goes to Brown University.
He was told that all of his friends were using AI to help them write. Musk declined to clarify whether this use of AI was to check for copying or to get around software that does that.
He said in December that AI would be better than people in three years at many things, like writing books and finding new scientific knowledge.
Musk joked that he has a “big money bin” for swimming when Read asked him about his shopping habits. He said, “You got to get exercise somehow,” which made everyone laugh.
