With the release of version 1.18.11 of its validator client software, Anza has made a number of changes to try to fix the current congestion problems on the Solana network.
Proof-of-stake (PoS) blockchains like Solana (SOL) and Ethereum (ETH) depend on validator clients to make sure that transactions are correct and that network rules are followed. A spokesperson for Anza said that the latest update is especially aimed at the traffic problems on Solana.
Solana’s Strategies and Congestion Challenges
In addition to improving validator clients, developers are looking into a number of other ways to deal with the congestion. These include making the best use of computing resources, adding priority fees to improve the user experience, and creating stake-weighted quality of service mechanisms to speed up transaction processing.
A lot of junk transactions are slowing down transactions and increasing the number of failures. This is thought to be the main cause of SOL network problems. These problems are made worse by Solana’s design, which handles transactions directly without a mempool.
Evaluations from outside sources show how bad SOL’s traffic problems are. Reports say that the network is overloaded because of a rise in the popularity of Solana joke coins, which causes transactions to take longer and more of them to fail.
In response to what was going on, Austin Federa, Head of Strategy at the Solana Foundation, said on Twitter that the network was having problems. He was sure that the network would be able to get through these problems by pointing to examples of how it had done so in the past.
Anza, Firedancer, Jito, and other key contributors are working hard (and not sleeping much) to improve SOL networking stack so that it can handle the huge amount of traffic it is getting right now.
