The Starknet Foundation, which is in charge of building Starknet, a layer-2 scaling solution for Ethereum that works with zero knowledge, has stated that the leadership will be changing on August 6.
Since March 2023, Diego Oliva has been the first CEO of the Starknet Foundation. He is going to step down. During his time at the Foundation, Oliva built a strong team and organizational system.
It stated that :
“Under Diego’s leadership, the Foundation has executed the Provisions project and initiated several ecosystem development projects such as DeFi Spring, Seed Grants, and the Catalyst and Propulsion programs,” .
Smooth Transition For Starknet Leadership
James Strudwick will become the new executive director and keep the Foundation growing and being used. Oliva will stay with the Foundation for another month to make sure the change goes smoothly and platform activities do not stop. Strudwick joined the SNF in January 2024 and was in charge of ecosystem growth at first.
The Foundation finished its STRK airdrop earlier this year and just recently announced plans to use STARK technology to make Bitcoin wider. StarkWare said that this success would make Starknet the first Layer 2 network to settle and scale for both Ethereum and Bitcoin at the same time.
The Foundation has also added the Chainlink and Pyth oracles in order to take advantage of the growing ecosystem of decentralized apps.
