Tether, the company that makes the USDT stablecoin, has teamed up with the Vietnam Blockchain Association (VBA) to improve teaching about blockchain and cryptocurrencies in Vietnam. This strategic partnership, announced on Tuesday, aims to help more people learn and use blockchain technology.
The VBA and Tether Operations Limited will collaborate to organize workshops and conferences. Tether is known for its long-running stablecoin backed by the US dollar. An official statement says these educational programs are meant to facilitate information sharing and skill building in Vietnam’s blockchain industry.
The VBA launched the Academy of Blockchain and AI Innovation at its yearly forum on April 24. This education program aims to enrol one million people by 2030, 100,000 of them students from 30 colleges in Vietnam. The academy is run by an executive group, a board of directors, and a scientific council made up of top blockchain experts.
Chainalysis’ 2023 crypto gains report says that Vietnam has been a strong adopter of cryptocurrencies, bringing the country’s overall crypto gains to $1.18 billion, third in the world. Even though the market goes up and down, a lot of people own cryptocurrencies. In fact, 17% of Vietnamese people aged 25 to 34 currently hold or have owned cryptocurrencies.
Tether And VBA Spearhead Blockchain Education Initiative In Vietnam
Tether and VBA’s agreement aims to make more people in Vietnam aware of stablecoins and digital money. Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, was excited about the partnership and pointed out that blockchain technologies could help solve Vietnam’s specific problems.
As part of their work together, Tether and VBA want to hold five educational conferences in big towns like Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The main goal of these events is to give people in the area more power by teaching them about blockchain technology and how it can be used.
Vice Chairman of VBA Phan Duc Trung stressed the importance of getting young people ready for the digital economy through complete learning and growth programs. The partnership also backs UniTour 2024, a program for college students that aims to help them learn more about using Bitcoin.
The partnership shows that Tether and VBA are serious about supporting new financial ideas and giving young Vietnamese people the skills they need to succeed in the digital world.
