During September 27 and 29 the Zilliqa blockchain experienced two serious issues that affected block generation and temporarily ceased transactions. The mainnet struggled to produce new blocks as the September 29 bug caused a complete halt to block creation.
On September 27 before this incident block generation retreated markedly. Zilliqa confirmed the problem on September 29 by stating system failure. While the community’s worries rose with concerns as ZilPay users struggled to reach their funds.
Zilliqa Faces User Frustration
Participants voiced their annoyance while reminding others that the network had recovered only two days ago from a different problem. Zilliqa informed its followers on social media that these problems did not stem from the recent upgrade intended for speed and cross-chain compatibility.
Although they resolved the previous bug rapidly on the 27th of September the new breakage still has not been resolved yet. Only validators can access the network now; everyday users are not able to use it. The team at Zilliqa is focusing on a stable resolution as revealed in a recent post.
Cosmos developers fixed an essential vulnerability in the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol recently which threatened an $126 million financial exposure. Hackers might have created endless tokens on Osmosis and similar chains due to the vulnerability. Developer Carlos Rodríguez resolved the problem with a solution.
