The Cardano Foundation announced significant progress in its ecosystem in its August 2024 update, with steady growth in transactions, wallets, and native tokens.
A tweet from the Foundation says that the number of network activities went up by 1.51%, making the total 95.9 million. The number of wallets also went up, by 0.67% to 4.87 million. The number of shared wallets went up by 1.33 million, with a growth rate of 0.98%.
The number of Plutus scripts on the Cardano blockchain continued to grow, taking the total number of scripts recorded to 6,709. There were 10.3 million native coins, 0.85% more, and 160,299 policies, 6.53% more.
Cardano Tokens Rise
There was a wide range of transaction activity: 31% came from smart contracts, 49% from simple deals, and 20% from metadata that did not involve smart contracts. In a separate update, the platform got even better from Input Output Global (IOG), which is Cardano’s developer arm.
There were 1,373 projects growing on Cardano as of August 30, 2024, Cardano had 1,373 growing projects. There were also big changes in the environment. Token policies increased by 8,375, and the number of native tokens rose by 110,000 in August. The number of deals increased by 1.5 million, and the number of Plutus scripts increased by 5,995, making a total of 74,729 scripts.
We also took important steps toward the planned Chang upgrade in August. The ledger team tested the Conway ledger era to make sure that users had an effortless time switching. At the same time, the Lace team released version 1.14 of the wallet, which made it more useful and improved the user experience.
In the first stage of the Chang upgrade, the Plutus team completed testing bitwise primitives like integerToByteString and byteStringToInteger.
In other news, the Hydra team released version 0.18.0, which added incremental decommits and worked through the Hydra Doom effort to make sure it would work with upstream dependencies.
