A groundbreaking five-year partnership between Tixbase and Passo was announced on August 29. It was the most significant deal that a blockchain ticketing business had ever gotten.
The Avalanche network will be used by the partnership to solve some of the biggest problems in the ticketing business, such as security, openness, and user experience.
With Avalanche’s blockchain technology, the businesses will be able to keep an eye on and control sales on the secondary market. This will help them deal with problems like fakes, price gouging, and scalping.
Passo Leads Turkey’s Ticketing
Since 2014, Passo has been Turkey’s main ticket seller. They handle ticket sales for 38 teams, including the Turkish National Team, as well as major European football events like the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.
The partnership could have significant impacts on the online event booking market, which is expected to reach $107 billion by 2032 and handle more than 25 million tickets every year for sports games, concerts, plays, and festivals.
TixChain, an Avalanche layer-1 chain that complies with the GDPR and other related data privacy laws, will be used in the partnership. Tixbase will be able to sell tickets with non-fungible tokens (NFTs) because of the blockchain.
These NFTs will be valuable digital assets that fans can buy, trade, or sell. These NFTs will also help Passo’s loyalty scheme and get fans more involved.
