Before crypto experts pointed out some suspicious behavior involving the token, NBA Hall of Famer Scottie Pippen promised again to support his Ethereum project in order to boost trust.
Pippen’s controversial Ethereum-based BALL project started on August 2 and was met with dissatisfaction immediately. People quickly added community notes to Pippen’s X post about the announcement, telling investors to stay away from the real-world asset venture.
ZachXBT Exposes BALL Scams
ZachXBT, a crypto investigator, said that the BALL deployer address was the same as a wallet that had been used in at least two previous scams, which are known in the web3 space as “rug pulls.” ZachXBT also said that Pippen tried to sell a non-fungible token in 2022, but it didn’t work and is generally seen as another scam.
Another crypto analyst gave information that Pippen and the developer wallet sold $330,000 worth of BALL tokens all at once. Because of this, the six-time NBA champion said that 103 Ether in liquidity was taken away to “mitigate attacks” while the crypto community looked closely at him.
People on social media reacted to Pippen’s post with data that showed BALL insiders controlled more than 15% of the token’s supply. This did not clear up any questions.
Even though some projects have failed and there has been controversy surrounding some celebrities’ crypto ventures, popular figures keep entering the Web3 space. But Solana has been used for most launches. About 30 star memecoins came out on Solana just last month, but most of them failed, which hurt a lot of users and made people dislike famous people who get into the market.
